Pinon Keeps Going Strong

In contrast to the national housing market, Pinon Development is enjoying one of its busiest years in the company's history.National housing starts only inched up with 1.7 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 546,000 units in July from a downwardly revised figure in the previous month, according to U.S. Commerce Department figures released today. The gain occurred entirely on the multifamily side, with single-family housing production falling 4.2 percent to 432,000 units.

Salida offers so much to buyers who want to live in the Rocky Mountains, with the Arkansas River running through it, world class fly fishing, kayaking and rafting are immediately accessible. Also, Monarch Mountain has some of the best snow in Colorado and is 25 minutes away. The weather is hard to beat anywhere in the state. And compared to other mountain communities, homes in Salida are an incredible value.

Pinon Development has earned a reputation of building the highest performance and highest quality homes in the area. Combine all of that with favorable home buying conditions including historically low mortgage rates... it all adds up to Pinon Development building new homes and keeping busy.

Presently we are working on six projects in the Salida, CO area.We have two homes going up in our beautiful Trailside Estates. One is the Winfield plan we are building for a couple relocating from Maine. It features a carriage house over the garage that includes a kitchenette. The perfect guest house! The other is our Hancock plan being built for a couple that has relocated from Pennsylvania. Theirs has a carriage house as well and it is going to be a photography workshop. In gorgeous Cameron Meadows we are building the 2387 plan as our new model home. It features a grand entrance to the courtyard and a casita. (The current model home is SOLD to a couple relocating from Kansas.) We are also building a revised version of the same plan for a buyer relocating from Alaska. This home will take advantage of the sun for passive solar heating. We have two custom homes being built outside of our two subdivisions. One is a riverside farmhouse on 6 acres being built for a local dentist and his family. The other is a version of our 2467 plan being built in Mesa Antero for a couple relocating from New Mexico.

All of us at Pinon Development want to thank our customers and the realtors who have helped us to earn the reputation of quality, performance and satisfaction.
